Hybrid Heat Pump Water Heater
Provided by Rheem
Net Zero homes are equipped with a Rheem hot water tank, improving hot water delivery efficiency by incorporating air source heat pump technology. This technology takes interior air and uses this energy to warm the water in the hot water delivery system. In doing so, renewable energy is used to provide the make-up heat for the water.
Rheem’s Hybrid Electric water heater is a highly efficient water heating solution that costs less than 60¢ per day to operate and is packed with modern features. It is super efficient with a 2.45 energy factor which is over twice the efficiency of a standard electric water heater, reducing operating cost by up to $370 annually.
Its 8700 Btu/h compressor is the most powerful in its class – more heat can be created by the heat pump and less by the costly electric elements. This translates into significant fuel saving in real life applications. For still more savings, the Rheem hybrid has a wider temperature operating range, which means the heat pump can be used to heat water more days throughout the year.
It is also the first water heater ever with a touch screen control that is intuitive, back lit and offers diagnostics.
With easy access side connections, and its narrow 21" diameter that fits through access doors, it can easily replace a standard electric water heater.
